Good GameDec 27, 2004
By Brian Snowman We got this game to work on US geography with the kids (6&8). The game exceeds our expectations in that it is fun to play as well. After opening it we played 4 straight games. There is a good bit of strategy to chosing the states and transportation methods. Also, figuring out where your opponent is heading and trying to block them adds a new dimension.

Best States Game Ever!Oct 27, 2006
By Jill Basham We just got this a few days ago & already my 6yr old yells out, "you can't do that, Maryland is on the east side, I think you meant to get Montana!" It's great for every age. I thought I'd have to play with my 6 yr. old a few games to get him started but he wanted to do it himself. My 9yr old loves it, and so do I. We can't get enough. You'll be surprised how quickly you know which states to look for. The object of the game is to make connections for a 10 day journey, touring by plane, car, and on foot. This is also a great tool for Home Schooling. I'm going to buy, "10 Days In Europe" also. Great FUN!!!

Great way to learn US geography!Dec 04, 2007

10 Days in the U.S.A. is a great addition to Out of the Box's 10 Days game series. All the versions (U.S.A., Asia, Europe and Africa) offer a fun and challenging game that, in the process, teaches you the geography of the U.S.A. (or Asia, Europe, or Africa). Can you create a 10-day trip, traveling by foot, by plane and by car? Each game is a new adventure!
I've played 10 Days with kids from 6 to 15, and all have enjoyed themselves... and I did, too! 10 Days in the U.S.A. (or Asia, Europe or Africa) is a great addition to any home or classroom games collection.

This Game is "Geogriffic"!Jul 25, 2008
By Soozoos Our 7-1/2 yr. old son kept pointing out tourist license tags on cars around town so he was already "into" states but not so sure how far away those states are so we bought this game thinking we might "strike while the iron is hot!" It is great! I'm learning more about our country too.
The first few times we played, I partnered with him to discuss the best order for the trip cards drawn at the start and then choices as we filled in the gaps. This was very helpful to him and he now wins the game by himself frequently. There is a good mixture of luck vs. smarts required to win.
The difficulty in playing the game with children is that it is sort of like a card game. All of the action takes place in your own hand so there is little interaction or discussion about progress because nothing is "mapped" in plain view - just the discard piles. The game board is mearly for reference and describing your trip at the end of the game. This is not really a problem - just helpful to know ahead of time.
I heartily recommend this game and look forward to purchasing the sister games (Africa, Europe, Asia) in the future. Enjoy your purchase!

Great fun for young and old!Jan 01, 2010
By alstrooper It took a few rounds to understand the nature of this game but once we settled into it, were were hooked. How you set up your cards before play starts is the key to the game. And no two games are alike! It seems most reviewers are saying you need to be at least 7 or 8 to understand the nature of the game and I would agree. But an added benefit to this game is that my teenager enjoys playing it along with the adults. My 76 year old father was hooked and made us play several more rounds after we had already completed 4 rounds. A fun geographical based game that requires a little luck with the draw of the cards as well as logical thinking n order to complete your trip along with some strategy to possibly block your opponents.
