My sister and I recieved this book when I was 8, and her 6 years old. We really enjoyed it, because it was easy to do, with good instrutions, but still enough challenging to make it fun. We especially loved the tie died string that came with the book, and had to take turns being the one that got to use it. Another thing that we enjoyed was that we could do it all by ourselves, with out having to ask our parents to help us, because the instrutions were very easy to read, with simple laugage.Every step is illistrated, too! A good buy.

My eight year old son received this for his birthday. At first he was frustrated at trying to figure out how to coordinate his fingers etc. This lasted maybe 15 minutes and he hasn't looked back. He does the Eiffel Tower, witches broom, Cat's Cradle and Jacob's ladder very easily. It is now a matter of how fast he can do them and he certainly enjoys pulling the string out of his pocket to impress a crowd. I am so glad that I was able to give this gift to my son, in a way it is a gift of nostalgia to myself too, as I have many fond memories of creating these.

My girls, ages 8 and 14, LOVE this fun string game. My 8 year old received it for Christmas, but my 14 year old plays with it, too!!!

This became popular in my youngest son's Montessori class (of 6 - 9 year olds; last year, it was finger weaving). I am amazed of how this really invigorates his spatial thinking (putting it that way sounds like it's taking away the fun, but it's really cool how a child can see a bunch of twisted string and make out what's wrongquickly). He already knew all the 'structures' from doing it in school (allowed only during breaks and quiet time). He taught me all of them without looking at the book. I looked at the instructions, and had to work things out slowly to follow it, but his instructions were much better and he could tell quickly which loop is out of place.
Fun for car entertainment too.
We play 2-person games . My wife was amazed just watching us.

I bought this for my 7 year old niece for Christmas. She loves the game, but we're not thrilled with the actual string. It is not stretchy at all and hurts our fingers.
