5A wonderful gift!Aug 03, 2000
By Megan Grant
My parents got this game for me when I was 10 - and at age 15, my friends and I still play it. It's very educational, with beautifully-illustrated cards representing different horses that tell about each ones' breeds, colors, markings, etc. It also includes a handy booklet with general information on horses as well as game rules and plays. The game is actually 3 in 1; with two versions for multiple players and one version for a single player. Another bonus is that to play you don't need extensive knowledge of horses - anyone can play! I have over 5 other different horse board games and this one is my favorite with my friends and family. It is money well spent.

5Six months later still playing it every daySep 15, 2003

My 8 year old daughter got this for Christmas. She was interested in horses and I thought this would be educational and hold her interest. She LOVES this game. It is not too hard for her 6 year old sister to play with her and it is interesting enough that her Dad and I don't get bored with it. She has even played it alone. There are 3 playing options and though we have played all three, the first is the most popular and easiest. The other two options require keeping track of the horses breed and traits. That is too much work for our younger daughter but the 8yo thrives on it. We have played this game hundreds of times since Christmas and easily every day for six months. Both girls got tons of gifts for Christmas. This was the most used, most loved. After a game, the girls like to just read the horse cards and sort them and arrange them. With the variety of playing options I can see where they can enjoy it for years to come. A must buy for your horse fan.

5The perfect game for any horse lover!Jul 14, 1999

When I recieved this game as a Christmas present five years ago, my parents did not realize how much I would love playing it! For a horse crazy girl, it was the perfect gift. The idea of being a beautiful, wild mustang fighting to reach safety in a race against other stallions and obstacles was enchanting. Along the way, the player has to build their own herd by collecting unique picture cards of various horses. The cards inform on the horse's breed and personality, including information that is educational and interesting. The two alternative games are also fun to play. All in all, the game's colorful format and imaginative appeal make it a guaranteed favorite for any horse lover!

5If you like horses-you'll enjoy this gameOct 03, 2000

Not knowing what to expect with a game about horses we were pleasantly surprised. My daughter, the 9 year old who is crazy about horses loves this game. I thought it might be a good educational game for a horse-crazy girl. It is educational if you want to learn about ranch horses or wild horses, different breeds, colors, markings etc. There are six games you can play: 3 solitare and 3 for multiple players. The games are simple enough for my daughter to read and explain to me. As a mom, I was not bored out of my mind, and my daughter loves it- so it's good mommy/daughter time!

5Surprisingly FunJan 02, 2003
By Jeffrey Pruitt "shylock14"
I purchased this game as a Christmas present for my 11 yr. old daughter (who is horse obsessed). The entire family had a blast playing it. I'm a 40 something man, who generally gets rapidly bored with childrens games. My wife seemed to enjoy too. My 5 year old could play too (with a lot of assistance).

There is quite a bit of luck in the game, and it is possible to come from way behind a win (which keeps it interesting). The components are a little week though. The horse cards are beautifully illustrated and are of good quality similar to high quality playing cards. Compared to the cards the board is poorly illustrated, and of below average quality compared to other board games. The adventure cards are little more than heavy paper and could really use some improvement. The size and quality of the adventure cards will make them very susceptable to damage and loss.

This is a nice family game, particularly if your family is into horses (even if only a little).
