4Great gift ideaJan 23, 2009

My son wanted one of these ever since Daddy was stopped by a friendly Guard on the way to the airport the other month. Only a few kilometres over the speed limit on an empty road at 9pm at night. Although Daddy tried to humour the officer by saying that the cloaking device on his Landrover had obviously failed, the officer insisted on writing out a ticket and giving Daddy two points, which he promptly doubled to four when Daddy rather foolishly cursed under his breath and muttered that he usually went twice as fast when he was on his Triumph motorbike. The Guard said that Daddy was a poor role model for his son, so I bought junior this lovely gift for Xmas and educated him in its correct operation.
Junior was truly inspired by the toy, setting up a roadblock in the kitchen right behind the door where he couldn't be seen. On the first school morning of term he caught Mummy and his sister both rushing to get some breakfast. After he had told them off and given them tickets, he settled down to catch Daddy. Unfortunately Daddy was in a bad mood that morning on account of Mummy having used all the hot water, so he rather enthusiastically opened the kitchen door, pinning junior and his radar trap against the cupboard. When Mummy had cleaned him up a bit and given him some chocolate to stop him sobbing, he grimly set up his roadblock again, saying it was for our own good and he was only protecting us from ourselves. Unfortunately he had not taken into account the puppy, which got the Radar man in its jaws and within ten seconds had reduced it to mangled plastic mush. Junior was inconsolable, partly due to Daddy cheering and thumping the table and yelling to the dog 'Kill Coco, kill'.
Junior said that he was going to be a Guard when he grew up and then he would show Daddy and Daddy asked Mummy were they too late to have Junior adopted, but Mummy just kicked Daddy uder the table. Daddy now has to get Junior a set of handcuffs and a reflective vest as penance, but the Playmobil ones don't fit.
