I was pleasantly surprised when this costume arrived. The materials look luxurious (velvet, tulle, satin). The stitching is well done and there is a lot of detailing (puffy sleeves with embroidery, several layers on dress, detachable cape).
I found it ran bigger than I'm used to with costumes. I usually have to order up one or two sizes for my kids (especially if I plan on having them wear long sleeved shirts underneath). Costumes always seem to run very small. This one ran a little big in my opinion. I ordered the 4-6 for my daughter who normally wears a 4 and had to take in the sides and shorten it quite a bit. The fabric is pretty stretchy and I'm sure I could have gotten away with the smaller size.
The detachable cape sits on velcro patches on the back. After a while it falls backwards. It's not the best design but it doesn't take away from the front of the dress which looks like one of the more expensive versions of this costume.

Great value but check your sizing before you buy.Feb 19, 2010

I was very impressed with this dress. We ordered two dress up dresses for our daughter's 6th birthday. This was the cheaper one but the quality is superior to the Cinderella dress that we bought from another vendor.
The size does run pretty big, this is definitely NOT a small. Our daughter wears size 5/6 clothes moving into 6/6X and this is big on her. The dress is wide and I'll need to take it in to make it fit without falling off her shoulders. The length is perfect and reaches just above the floor, longer than shown in the photo. I don't need to worry about her growing out of this for a long time.
The dress includes the cape and white collar (which can't be seen very well in the photo on the website). Front of the skirt is all sequined, the back is plain yellow. Lots of tulle on the skirt at the so doesn't really need an extra slip to keep it out like some other dresses do.
A huge hit with my daughter and great value.

Just received this costume for my 2 year old (28 pound) daughter. The costume has blue velvet top with yellow sparkly and fluffy bottom and is much cuter than the picture shows. I also got the little snow white jelly shoes to match and it looks soo cute! But, the dress is a little too small for my daughter mostly in the arms from the elastic. She had a red band around her arm after just 30 minutes of wear, other than that it fit pretty good. Expected this to be a bit bigger since it says Toddler 2-4 years (from Rubies). But the actual package says Toddler USA 2-4 years and then below says for 1-2 years old, which is confusing. If you are considering this, I would get it for the 1-2 year olds and not 2 and up.

My daughter loves this dress! It is well made and durable. She wears a 7 in pants and 8 in tops and I ordered this dress as a 7/8. It is a bit long, but that is not a problem for us. We also had to pin it in the back cause it was a bit baggy. Bottomline: may be "made big". Still a fun dress and she loves it!
