I bought this for my son's 7th b-day. He was very excited about it, but the first time he played with it, a piece fell off. We still can't get it back on. This didn't stop him from playing with it though. He still loves it anyway. Overall a great toy but I wish I hadn't payed 30 bucks for it. I would be happier had I only payed 15-20 bucks.

This is poorly made, small parts, hard to transform, not meant for kids to play with - not worth buying...
Retro-PrimeMay 15, 2010
By Ray T. First things first, I don't like the movies. It's not that they're bad so much as they're not any good. In fact, I was so unhappy with the first film that I swore I would never add a movie prime to my collection. An oath I have since broken, several times over. This guy was the first. I finaly broke down and got him for two reasons, 1: his gen 1 color scheme. 2: he was on sale. And in truck mode, the repaint works. If gen one prime had been rebuilt as a long-nose after his temporary demise, he may well have looked like this. In robot mode, ironicly, he's less gen 1ish than other primes of the same mold with red legs in place of blue. Oh well, you can't have your energon and eat it too... Not my favorite Prime, but also not the worst I've seen.

My 5 yr old loves the Transformers, and loves this toy. We got it for his 5th birthday. He plays with it daily. The arm sometimes pops off when my son gets impatient trying to transform it, but its made to pop right back on (Thank Goodness)
Way more complex than product description describesAug 31, 2008

I bought this toy for my son's 5th birthday - he's a huge fan, and one of those kids who's into everything, taking things apart and generally tinkers with stuff. After several hours of messing with it, he finally got the hang of it (us adults haven't yet). It would have helped knowing that it takes 13 steps to transform from rig to autobot. Also, if pieces are moved too much in the wrong direction, they come apart (better than breaking) so you end up with several pieces you're not sure where they go. May be better for ages 7 and up instead of 5. But if you want to keep a kid who's always pushing buttons and taking things apart entertained, this should do the trick.
